Clearance Level 3

Contained Anomaly: CTA-008

Object Class: Caputalis

Containment Procedures: CTA-008 at large cannot be contained, although individual instances can. When an instance of CTA-008-11 is discovered, it is to be immediately contained at Containment Facility BIO-01, and given a mental health evaluation. If this mental health evaluation comes back positive, they are to be treated with [REDACTED] and then put back into human society. If the result is negative, they must have their brain checked for CTA-008-A. Upon traces of CTA-008-A being found within the person's brain, it is to be removed and they are to be placed back into human society.

Description: CTA-008 is a conceptual parasite that attaches to the host's amygdala. In most cases, CTA-008 lays dormant in CTA-008-1, although in rare cases the parasite activates, causing a substance known as CTA-008-A to be produced. When a human subject is exposed to CTA-008-A, they2 will start to show symptoms of a common cold, 72 hours after this they will have an innate fear of water and will avoid the substance at all cost if they learn/know the fact that humans are made mostly of water, they will [REDACTED].

Upon coming into contact with water, CTA-008-1 will immediately begin having a severe panic attack, mainly resulting in mild to severe asphyxiation or sometimes even death. CTA-008-1 instances will attack anyone they have seen consuming water in the last 12 hours, claiming they're defending themselves.

CTA-008-A is a viscous black ooze produced by CTA-008 when it activates. Although normally dangerous CTA-008-A can be refined into CTA-008-B, a viscous white sludge; this sludge can cure people affected by CTA-008. This sludge also causes a boost in morale for the subject as well as in general motor functions and enhanced cognitive abilities. Despite the overwhelming positives of CTA-008-B, it is also a highly addictive substance that can cause the user to rely on it.

Testimony From Infected Personnel:

Don't go in the water, there's something in there.

I saw an eye

Maybe even some blood

The water isn't safe

I think I see the head of an eel.

When you stare into the water…

It stares right back.
