Contained Anomaly: CTA-012

Object Class: Ignotus

Containment Procedures: CTA-012 is to be completely sealed off by an iron gate and is to have 24/7 surveillance. Expeditions within CTA-012 must be approved by Level 4 Clearance personnel.

While expeditions are taking place, JD personnel must enter with the following materials:

  • Flashlight
  • Batteries
  • Radio Communication
  • Snacks
  • Sleeping Bag (As it might take hours before something new is discovered within CTA-012)
  • Water Bottles
  • Backpack/anything used to store items
  • Oxygen tank for deepest exploration

Expeditions are not to end until 30 minutes after entering CTA-012.

UPDATE: As of recently, Dr. Leaton "IP22" is no longer allowed to conduct expeditions within CTA-012.

Description: CTA-012 is a cave discovered in the northern parts of [REDACTED]. CTA-XXX was discovered by two hikers, however only one was found. The other was soon to be found.

CTA-012 appears to have almost an endless amount of cave systems within. The first cave systems from the entrance are the safest, however, expeditions have proven that further exploration within CTA-012 appears to have a partial effect on the individual exploring within. For example, the video feed within CTA-012 seems to almost fail instantly once inside of these deep parts, however, radio communication is flawless. It also has been noted that JD Personnel could hear young children screaming in pain on these deeper parts.

The deepest parts of CTA-012 seem to be the most dangerous. Oxygen levels seem to decrease at this point, and carbon dioxide levels, for an unknown reason, seem to increase. Radio signals are worse in this part as well, sometimes they even stop working as a whole. It has also been noted that hostile entities have been caught within these parts, classified CTA-012-1. However, it's unknown how they attack, nor what their appearance is.

Expeditions: Multiple expeditions have been conducted by the CTA Corporation, as they attempt to learn more about CTA-012.

Expedition Log 1:

Explorer: JD-2358

Conductor: Dr. Leaton "IP22"

Date of expedition: July 27, 2007

BEGIN LOG

IP22: JD-2358, please enter CTA-012.

JD walks into CTA-012's entrance

JD: Ya sure about this man? This place kinda creeps me out…

IP22: It creeps out everyone. Please continue.

JD: Ok sir.

12 minutes later

JD: I think I found something man!

IP22: Please elaborate.

JD: It's a massive pond of water. It smells like horse shit man!

JD-2358 enters the deeper caverns and explores for another 20 minutes

JD: Do you hear that?

IP22: What did you hear sir?

JD: It's like some kids are down here… Sounds like they're screwed, man.

IP22: Damn, notes. Please continue.

JD-2358 continues exploring for another 3 hours

JD: Man, I can't breathe in this shit. Is this even oxygen?

JD: Wait I found something else!

IP22: What did you find sir?

JD: What the fuck?

JD: HOLY SHIT WHAT THE FU- the microphone cuts out here

IP22: JD-2358 is everything OK? What's happening? Are you still there?

END LOG

After a long exploration, JD-2358 was assumed to be killed off by one of the CTA-XXX-1 specimens.

Expedition Log 2:

Explorer: JD-1235

Conductor: Dr. Leaton "IP22"

**Date of expedition: August 13, 2007

BEGIN LOG

JD: There is no way on earth I'm going down there.

IP22: We accept termination as well if you wish. Please enter CTA-012.

JD-1235 enters

JD: This place is disgusting. What the fuck is that smell???

IP22: Noted. Please continue.**

JD-1235 continues for another 5 minutes

JD: Is that a net of dead fish? Christ, that smells.

IP22: Interesting. Is there anything else in the area?

JD: All there is is this energy bar wrapper. I'm assuming this came from the last guy you used for testing?

IP22: Yes sir. Now continue on with your exploration.

JD-1235 continues on for another hour.

JD: Hello?

IP22: I can hear you.

JD: No, I hear something. Sounds like a child screaming. Fucking terrifying.

JD-1235 continues on to the deepest parts

JD: Thanks for these oxygen tanks, there was carbon dioxide on this level, right?

IP22: My pleasure.

JD: Oh shit…

IP22: What do you see?

JD: It's a creature, I'm staying still.

IP22: Try to get out of its way.

JD-1235 runs to another level of the cave system.

JD: Ok, I'm on a higher point. Hopefully, it won't be able to see-

JD-1235's radio feed starts to muffle.

IP22: I'm having trouble reading your radio feed. Radio Communication may become impossible soon.

5 minutes pass by and JD-1235's radio feed is back to normal.

IP22: Can you hear me now?

JD: I'm screwed right now. There are 3 of them in front of me. I think this is my last-

JD-1235's radio feed becomes inaudible.

END LOG

So much for the abrupt ending. That was our best expedition yet.
