Clearance Level 2
Contained Anomaly: CTA-018
Object Class: Amicus
Containment Procedures:
CTA-018 is housed in a standard humanoid containment chamber within CF-OBJ-09. One armed security guard known as the "Care Taker" is to remain stationed outside the containment chamber at all times.
A panic button is installed inside the chamber for use by CTA-018 in the event of a medical emergency or other immediate need. Upon activation, the stationed guard is authorized to enter the chamber only if CTA-018's skin pigmentation matches its baseline coloration. If the subject's pigmentation differs from its baseline, personnel must wait for a Memetic Response Team equipped with appropriate protective equipment. Physical examinations and psychological evaluations are to be conducted every Friday.
Under no circumstances are personnel to make direct physical contact with CTA-018 while any portion of its skin displays pigmentation other than its natural coloration.
Description:
CTA-018 is a Caucasian female whose biological age is estimated to be between 15 and 17 years. The subject refers to herself in the third person as "Rose."
CTA-018 displays no inherent hostile behavior toward Corporation personnel and has consistently demonstrated cooperative behavior during interviews, testing/experimentation, and routine containment procedures. Multiple psychological evaluations indicate no evidence of psychosis or antisocial tendencies instead often times being called "Friendly" and "Approachable" by corporation staff. Standardized cognitive assessments estimate the subject's IQ at approximately 125.
The primary anomalous property of CTA-018 is the ability to alter the pigmentation of the outermost layer of its skin". The subject is capable of voluntarily changing its skin through a limited range of colors, though sustained control requires significant concentration and often results in headaches and dizziness. During periods of emotional stress or fatigue, pigmentation changes become involuntary, typically cycling through several colors in sequence. Observed cycles consistently begin with white, progress through intermediate colors, terminate at red, and eventually return to the subject's natural skin tone.
The pigmentation effect is restricted to the epidermal layer, designated the "Initial Layer." Once an area of that layer of skin has been sufficiently damaged and has fully regenerated, that region permanently loses the ability to undergo anomalous pigmentation skin changes.
CTA-018 possesses a Class-II cognitohazardous effect. Activating only when direct skin-to-skin contact with CTA-018 while its pigmentation differs from its baseline coloration will result in an immediate cognitive effect. The specific effect produced is dependent upon the pigmentation currently exhibited by CTA-018 at the time of contact. Physical contact with CTA-018 while its skin is in its natural, baseline coloration has produced no anomalous effects during testing.
