Any attempts by CTA-020-1 to end its own life are to be prevented immediately. While CTA-020-2 has consistently intervened to preserve CTA-020-1's life, reliance upon its intervention is strictly prohibited due to the unpredictable level of force employed by the anomaly.

CTA-020-1 is a Caucasian male estimated to be in his late thirties. The subject identifies himself only as "Michael" and refuses or is unable to provide a surname. CTA-020-1 exhibits no anomalous abilities and, in several measured cognitive and physical tests conducted by Dr. Rose, has performed slightly below the average human baseline. Psychological evaluations indicate severe depression, chronic anxiety, and persistent suicidal thoughts. Multiple suicide attempts have been documented both before and after containment.
Whenever CTA-020-1 is placed in immediate danger of death or serious injury, a secondary anomaly designated CTA-020-2 will manifest. CTA-020-2 appears as an approximately 2.4 m (8 ft) tall humanoid clad in black plate armor and carrying a sword measuring roughly 3 m (10 ft) in length. CTA-020-2 displays overwhelming physical capabilities and will neutralize any perceived threat to CTA-020-1 using lethal force if necessary. If the danger originates from environmental causes rather than a hostile individual (such as falls, fires, explosions, or structural collapse), CTA-020-2 will instead remove CTA-020-1 from the hazardous area and relocate him to a safe location before disappearing. CTA-020-2 has never failed to prevent CTA-020-1's death. Despite these interventions, CTA-020-1 consistently expresses intense hatred toward CTA-020-2, frequently stating that the entity has "taken away" his ability to die. Interviews suggest that CTA-020-1 views the entity as a curse rather than a protector.
CTA-020-1 claims to perceive CTA-020-2 even while the entity is not visibly manifested. According to the subject, CTA-020-2 remains nearby at all times and "just stands there" with him continuously annoying him to the oint of CTA-020-1 verbally start insulting the entity. Personnel have repeatedly observed CTA-020-1 engaging in prolonged arguments with seemingly empty areas of his containment cell. During these incidents, no visual, auditory, or other anomalous evidence of CTA-020-2 has been detected. It is currently unknown whether these conversations are the result of an undiagnosed psychological disorder, a perceptual anomaly unique to CTA-020-1, or evidence that CTA-020-2 remains present in a form undetectable by corporations monitoring equipment.
