Containment Procedures:
CTA-029 is to be stored within a standard non-anomalous containment chamber in CF-OBJ-09.1 The containment chamber is to remain locked except during authorized testing, maintenance, or inspection. The object shall be cleaned on a biweekly basis using non-abrasive cleaning materials to prevent cosmetic degradation. Under no circumstances shall Corporation personnel wear or otherwise utilize CTA-029 without prior written authorization from Dr. Alexander. All testing involving CTA-029 must be documented and approved before execution.
Description:
CTA-029 is a plain white mask measuring approximately 8 in (20.3 cm) in height, 6.5 in (16.5 cm) in width, and 7.75 in (19.7 cm) in depth. The mask possesses no distinguishing features aside from two eye openings and is composed of an unidentified smooth white material that has resisted conventional methods of material analysis, the material used for CTA-029 is also extremely lightweight.
When an individual wears CTA-029, they become completely unaffected by known reality-warping phenomena and memetic agents for the duration of wear. Testing indicates that anomalous effects capable of altering reality, cognition, or perception consistently fail to influence the wearer while the mask remains in place. The anomalous effect ceases immediately upon removal of CTA-029. No adverse physiological effects have been observed in authorized test subjects at this time.
Due to this it was theorized that if reality breaks down or is altered in any major form an individual when wearing CTA-029 could survive and go to a slightly different reality while still maintaining their current understanding of ours.
Incident 028-A

An unidentified male wearing a slightly altered CTA uniform was discovered deceased within CTA-029's containment chamber during a routine inspection. An autopsy and DNA analysis failed to produce any matches in national or international databases, and no records indicating the individual's existence could be located. Examination of the containment chamber revealed no signs of forced entry, unauthorized access, or containment breach.
Review of security footage recorded prior to Incident 028-A revealed extensive corruption. All recordings leading up to the event consist solely of intermittent static and corrupted frames. The first recoverable frame depicts the unidentified individual already present within CTA-029's containment chamber, wearing CTA-029. No footage exists documenting the individual's entry into the chamber or the moment at which CTA-029 was donned. The cause of the recording corruption remains under investigation.
Recovered from the individual's body was a single handwritten note. Forensic analysis confirmed that the message had been written using the individual's own blood.

Research Note: Following Incident 028-A, the Research Division proposed the hypothesis that, in the event of a large-scale reality collapse or a significant alteration of baseline reality, an individual wearing CTA-029 may either transition into a closely adjacent reality or remain unaffected by alterations to their native reality while retaining memories and knowledge of the original timeline. This hypothesis has not been experimentally verified due to the catastrophic nature of the conditions required for testing and remains speculative. Debate surrounding the theory continues, as the only known individual who may have provided evidence in support of this hypothesis was deceased prior to recovery.
