Contained Anomaly: CTA-081

Containment Procedures: Due to the nature of CTA-081, Research Facility-081 has been built around it. Usage of CTA-081 must be approved by at least two Clearance Level 3 personnel. Additionally, CTA-081 is only to be used in the case of testing or as an extreme measure in cases where standard interrogation tactics yield little to no results. No personnel harbouring large amounts of guilt are to work within Research Facility-081. Interaction with CTA-081-1 is strictly prohibited without the express intent of usage.
Description: CTA-081 defines an extra-dimensional space only accessible via performing a ritual at a specific location housed within Research Facility-081. The ritual, performed at an ancient tree stump of an unknown genus, requires the offering of an object which the subject of the ritual feels large amounts of guilt about. To perform the ritual, the subject will place the object at the centre of the stump designated CTA-081-1; following this, the subject will repeat the phrase "I repent to thee 'o Judgement, and may thee place thou decision on me" seven times. Following the conclusion of the final phrase, CTA-081 will manifest in a spherical formation around the origin point of the ritual. All matter within the space of CTA-081's manifestation will be temporarily replaced with materials consistent with that of CTA-081 until the subsequent de-manifestation of the phenomena.
CTA-081 comprises a room similar to that of a standard American court within a hollowed-out tree of the same composition as CTA-081-1. However, all furniture within the room is made of the same material as CTA-081-1. Upon the manifestation of CTA-081, several avian-like entities will manifest within the phenomena. These entities will function as a jury for the period during which CTA-081 is present. All entities manifested through CTA-081 are made up of the same wood as CTA-081-1. Another entity will manifest, referred to as CTA-081-2. CTA-081-2 takes the role of the judge and is visually similar to that of CTA-070-1. Any attempt to lie or commit a crime legally recognized within the presence of CTA-081-2 will result in the death of the subject through the sudden growth of floral life within the subject; a similar result will occur if the subject is seen as guilty by the jury.
Any intelligent entity unaffiliated with CTA-081 within CTA-081-1 will be composed to list all actions they have performed for which they feel guilt in an unknown language. Additionally, all intelligent entities within CTA-081-1 become capable of understanding the unknown language for the duration of CTA-081's manifestation. In the event multiple intelligent entities are present, the entities will speak in the order of which entity feels the most collective guilt for their actions to the least. Ten to thirty minutes following the confession of the subject, the CTA-081 entities will come to a verdict, the result of which causes the subject to either be spontaneously relocated outside of CTA-081-1 if the subject is found not guilty or the aforementioned effect if the subject is found guilty.
Discovery: CTA-081 was originally discovered during a raid on the Paranatural Investigation Institution. This raid, done in retaliation due to hostile action performed on the part of the Paranatural Investigation Institution, uncovered the anomaly. According to records recovered during the raid, the Paranatural Investigation Institution used the anomaly to "Euthanize terminal patients", i.e. to terminate anomalies which could not have their anomalous properties removed. Several pages of documentation were found that supply detailed information about "patients" terminated via the usage of CTA-081. Shortly after the raid, the base was captured and converted to Research Facility-081. Information on how to conduct the ritual was discovered within the room containing CTA-081-1.
Addendum 081-1: Possible Origins
Information regarding CTA-081 was recently discovered, although whether or not this information is true remains highly speculative. During a Corporation expedition into previously unexplored ruins in close proximity to Research Facility-081, several ancient tablets were discovered. Following a thorough translation of the tablets, the following information is stated within the tablets; "At the beginning, there were three trees; first was the Tree of Life. One day, this tree bore a bud which would eventually bloom into all that is; all stars, all moons, and all planets stemmed from this bud. Eventually, the creation of living beings ushered in the growth of a second tree, the tree of Aether; this tree itself encompassed all that is after; Aether herself held heaven itself within her branches while her roots morphed and distorted into the purgatorial roots responsible for enacting unimaginable suffering. As a result of this duality, the Tree of Judgement was formed to encompass all possibilities. This tree held Cor, the judge of the afterlife, along with the original jury; their judgment decided the possibility of a soul being brought to Aether's heaven or Aether's roots. The Fairy Queen Titania desired the ability to decide possibilities. Thus, she ordered the creation of a ritual. Titania gave up her biggest regret, the final flower tended to by her first daughter; with this as an offering, the Fairy Queen began to chant "I repent to thee 'o Judgement, and may thee place thou decision on me", and as Titania was mere moments away from gaining the ability to decide, as a consequence of megalomania, her thirst for power allowed a purgatorial root to take hold within Titania, causing Titania's wish to be twisted, the Fairy Queen herself became a blasphemous mimicry of the Tree of Judgment allowing the gaze of Aether to spread within the Fairy Queen's forest."
As this information currently has no method for confirmation, it is not to be taken as fact. Although, possible connections to The Cult of Aether are to be investigated further. Possible evidence in favour of this origin is the fact that CTA-070-1 refers to itself as Cor, although, as previously mentioned, due to no proper method for confirmation, this is not to be taken as fact.
