Containment Procedures: CTA-089 is contained in a cryogenics chamber at CF-007. The chamber’s temperature must be kept under a random temperature of -273 to -288 Celsius, raising and lowering constantly. All personnel working with CTA-089 must have a mental resistance score of 70 or above if any personnel report hearing “voices” in their brain must report it to site command at once. The disturbance will be recorded in document 089-A. Temperature is then to be lowered by -4 every time a mental disturbance occurs until the disturbances cease to appear. The temperature is to be raised to normal levels afterwards to prevent adaption. All retrieval of sample specimens for study must be done without any organic matter and personnel must keep a distance of 1 meter from it when retrieving the sample. No personnel is allowed to come into contact with CTA-089.
All samples taken of CTA-089 after studying are to be transferred in a hermetically sealed box to the Cryogenics chamber 15 “Gamma”. Mobile devices infected with CTA-089-1 are to be stored in a secure storage locker only accessible to level 3 clearance.
Update: Some personnel have reported that observing a mysterious world is now classified as CTA-089-2. All personnel who report viewing CTA-089-2 are to be transferred to a nearby Recovery Facility.
Description: CTA-089 refers to a pile of sand-like substances covered in bones. Testing on samples shows the sand-like substance is made from powdered flesh belonging to an unknown species and metal. CTA-089 regenerates any lost mass after approximately 6 minutes after damage. Attempting to obtain the bones as a sample causes the closest skull to emit a “psychic attack” (see below). The bones are identical to human skeletons with bones appearing to be human femurs, ulna, phalanges, and ribs.
CTA-089 sand-like substance constantly vibrates. The vibration generates heat and gradually increases through time capable of reaching temperatures of 600 degrees Celsius. The increased heat makes CTA-089-1’s psychic potency increase drastically. The vibrations appear to decrease and completely stop when exposed to the coldness of -273 degrees Celcius or above. Touching CTA-089’s mass immediately triggers its vibrations or increases previous vibrations regardless of the temperature.
CTA-089 can “adapt” to coldness if exposed to freezing temperature long enough rendering the temperature ineffective in stopping its vibrations. Its adaption is prevented by constantly changing the temperature.
CTA-089-1 refers to a group of approximately six skulls buried in CTA-089. The skulls frequently emit “psychic attacks” at nearby personnel. The “psychic attacks” are expressed as voices in the personnel’s frontal lobe. The skulls can learn about the victim’s personal history and use it to their advantage. Personnel has reported the voices sounding calm and friendly. The “psychic attacks” usually compel the victim to either touch CTA-089 or attempt to free it.
It is worth noting that CTA-089-1 can use its “psychic attack” on any mobile and electronic device taking control over it. Currently, 8 personnel have attempted to release CTA-089-1 and 14 have willingly touched into CTA-089.
CTA-089-2 refers to a mysterious hallucinatory world created by CTA-089-1. Personnel reports the world looking like “a better version of what earth could have been”. Those who see the world usually attempt to enter CTA-089’s mass. The world is only known to be observed through CTA-089-1’s “psychic attacks”. It is yet unknown whether or not the world exists or not.
