FILE 099-1 (Updated ██/██/20██, approximately seventy-two (72) hours ago)

Contained Anomaly: CTA-099

Object Class: Amicus-Impetus

Assigned Military Force: MF-1 "The Chosen Ones"

Assigned Containment Facility: CF-MENT-09

Head Researcher: Dr. Ian Merriam

Containment Procedures: CTA-099 is to be contained in a standard inanimate object containment cell, measuring 4 x 4 meters in area, and monitored by at least one (1) MF-1 operative daily.

The containment cell of CTA-099-1, a standard Type 4 Humanoid Containment Cell, is to be monitored 24/7 by at least four (4) MF-1 operatives at once, rotating between three (3) 8-hour shifts per day, to ensure the cell remains secure and to ensure the survival of CTA-099-1. No further containment protocols are necessary.

Description: [INFORMATION LOST]

Addendum 099-1-Alpha: A series of test logs involving CTA-099, following Dr. Merriam's assignment as head researcher of CTA-099. Tests were conducted utilizing three different (3) JD Personnel, including JD-1439, JD-5645, and JD-1156 (now designated CTA-099-1).

Test Log #1

Subject: JD-1439

Procedure: JD-1439 is to enter the containment cell of CTA-099, and approach the object. No further interaction is to occur.

Test Result: [INFORMATION LOST]

Notes: JD-1439 terminated immediately following the test.

Test Log #2

Subject: JD-5645

Procedure: JD-5645 is to directly observe CTA-099 within its containment cell for four (4) consecutive hours. No further interaction is to occur.

Test Result: None of importance.

Notes: When questioned following the test, JD-5645 was completely silent and did not answer any questions related to CTA-099, or any other question. JD-5645 was also completely unresponsive to any physical or mental stimuli. JD-5645 terminated for refusing to comply with Corporation personnel.

Test Log #3

Subject: JD-1156

Procedure: JD-1156 is to approach CTA-099 and attempt direct interaction with the entity, under supervision of Dr. Merriam and one (1) MF-1 Operative.

Test Result: [INFORMATION LOST]

Notes: Upon entry of CTA-099's containment cell to retrieve JD-1156, JD-1156 was found screaming and babbling incoherently. Further observation revealed the subject to be foaming at the mouth. When questioned, JD-1156 was unresponsive. JD-1156 was submitted to the nearest MedUnit, where extensive use of [DATA EXPUNGED] was able to stabilize JD-1156. Following this test, JD-1156 was redesignated as CTA-099-1 and placed into containment.

Observation of CTA-099-1 continued for two (2) weeks. CTA-099-1 was observed spending most of its time rocking back and forth in place, curled in a fetal position. CTA-099-1 gave minimal response to external stimuli. However, basic instincts remained intact, and CTA-099-1 was found to have consumed every meal given to it daily within minutes. CTA-099-1 woke up screaming approximately thirty (30) minutes after every attempt made by the entity to sleep. Because of this, severe sleep deprivation symptoms were observed four (4) days into containment of CTA-099-1. All attempted uses of RetroSketchers have been ineffective on the subject. Following this observation, an interview was attempted (see Addendum 099-1-Beta).

Addendum 099-1-Beta: An interview log, dated ██/██/20██.

Interviewer: Head Researcher Dr. Merriam

Interviewee: CTA-099-1

Pre-Interview Notes: CTA-099-1 was restrained during this interview with several high-grade type ███ restraints, often used for interviews with low-risk humanoid anomalies. MF-1 Operative ██-█ present for the duration of the test.

<begin log>

Dr. Merriam: Now, the other day we directly exposed you to CTA-099 for our third test with the subject. What exactly occurred to you during that test?

CTA-099-1: His face.

Dr. Merriam: Uh-I'm sorry?

CTA-099-1: I can't stop seeing his face.

Dr. Merriam: So it has a face?

CTA-099-1: His face.

Dr. Merriam: I'll take that as a yes. Now-

CTA-099-1: He's in my head.

Dr. Merriam: What?

CTA-099-1: He's in my head. He's in my head. Get him out. Get him out. Get him out. Get him out. Get him out. Please. Please. Please. <The subject begins quietly sobbing.>

Dr. Merriam: Uh-Yes. Yes, we'll get him out, but you have to talk. What did he do to you?

CTA-099-1: Get him out. Get him out. Get him out! Get him out! GET HIM OUT! PLEASE!

Dr. Merriam: Sir, please calm down-

CTA-099-1: GET HIM OUT! GET HIM OUT! GET HIM OUT! I WANT OUT! PLEASE! <The subject begins violently thrashing in his seat, screaming and beginning to foam at the mouth.>

Dr. Merriam: Sir, please-

CTA-099-1: YOUR FAULT! YOUR FAULT! YOUR FAULT! GET HIM OUT! OUT! OUT! OUT!

Dr. Merriam: Oh, God- Hold him down! Hold him dow- <CTA-099-1 breaks free of his restraints. He lunges at Dr. Merriam. MF-1 Operative ██-█ immediately executes CTA-099-1 with a single gunshot to the head.>

<end log>

Post-Interview Notes: Dr. Merriam was submitted for health evaluation following this incident. Nothing out of the ordinary detected. Dr. Merriam cleared for duty.

Subject: Concerns over CTA-099

It's been approximately three weeks since I was assigned Head Researcher of CTA-099. In light of recent events, I am requesting serious updates to its containment procedures. I believe that CTA-099 is a far more dangerous anomaly than the Corporation is making it out to be. The effects that it had on CTA-099-1, as well as [INFORMATION LOST], should be taken into account when devising these procedures, and I believe that increased precaution should be taken to ensure the safety of our personnel.

Signed,
Dr. Ian Merriam, PhD
