Knowledge of CTA-100 is to be strictly limited. All personnel aware of its existence are to be continuously monitored.
In the event of a data breach or unauthorized public disclosure, all individuals possessing knowledge of CTA-100 are to be identified and accounted for immediately and preparation for a "Alpha-Broken World Scenario."1 are to be made. If the total number of individuals aware of CTA-100 reaches or exceeds 100, ten knowledgeable personnel are to be terminated immediately, reducing the total number of informed individuals below the activation threshold.
Following such an event, all records, documents, and digital information regarding CTA-100 are to be destroyed. At no point should more than a single designated individual retain complete knowledge of CTA-100.
CTA-100 is currently secured within the ██████ Containment Facility. Access requires Clearance Level 5 authorization.
Description:
CTA-100, commonly referred to as the Reality Rewriter Machine (RRM), is a reality-warping device measuring approximately 10 m × 10 m. One side of the machine contains a large LED display and a single activation button.
The LED display continuously indicates the number of individuals currently aware of CTA-100's existence.
If the activation button is pressed while fewer than 100 individuals possess knowledge of CTA-100, no observable effect occurs.
If the button is pressed while 100 or more individuals possess knowledge of CTA-100, the machine immediately rewrites reality, resetting the timeline approximately 125 years into the past. Following the reset, all memories and records of the previous timeline are erased. Every iteration of reality differs from the last to varying degrees. Historical events may unfold differently, organizations may develop alternate histories, and notable individuals such as historical figures may experience altered lives, cease to exist, or never come into prominence.
Whether CTA-100 merely rewrites reality or transfers surviving observers into an alternate timeline remains unknown, as no evidence from previous resets can persist.
Due to the catastrophic consequences of activation, all information concerning CTA-100 is considered highly classified and is to be destroyed whenever possible. Preventing the number of knowledgeable individuals from reaching the activation threshold, it remains corporation's highest priority.
