Group of Interest Name: The OCC Initiative
Known Bases: The OCC Initiative operates almost exclusively in the USA, having bases in most major cities within the country. All bases are connected to an extradimensional space known as the Tableau.
Description: The Initiative is an organisation dedicated to cataloguing anomalous phenomena, with a secondary objective of concealing information about the said phenomena from the public. The OCC often assist the Corporation by providing relevant information when requested. In exchange for its compliance, the Corporation provides information and media on contained anomalous phenomena for the 'viewing pleasure' of the Curator.
Though the organisation is highly secretive, the Corporation infers from the aforementioned deal with the initiative that it places 'viewing pleasure' and 'artistic merit' above the containment, or even the concealment, of anomalous phenomena. Despite the potential conflict of interest this could create with the Corporation, their low combative forces and recorded cooperation have marked them as a relatively non-existent threat.
Observers: These members are largely responsible for discovering and cataloguing information on anomalous phenomena. This position is similar to that of a researcher in the Corporation, though they typically interact with anomalies themselves rather than using an equivalent of a JD-Class Personnel.
Virtuosos: These members are high-functioning reality benders capable of transcribing scenes they view into a given artistic medium, typically the windows installed in the Tableau. While the scale of a Virtuoso's abilities can vary greatly, they seem to be significantly more fanatical about art and its meaning, stopping at almost nothing to get the 'best view'.
Custodians: These members are responsible for maintaining the Tableau and installing art created by Virtuosos. They also serve as guides, facilitating safe and efficient travel through the Tableau.
The Curator: A position held by the individual who manages and funds the organisation. More details about this individual can be found further in this document.
Description: The Tableau is an extradimensional space connected to all Initiative bases. The space contains numerous long corridors resembling those surrounding the connected bases. These corridors contain windows which display frozen segments of spacetime captured by Virtuosos. While housing Initiative operations, the Tableau is also home to entities known as Criticus Occuli.
Criticus Oculi: These entities are naturally occurring within the Tableau, resembling the red eyes on the Initiative logo, presumably inspiring them. Oculi are typically observed viewing the windows within the space for indefinite periods, only looking away when disturbed by an external force.
When observing something, all things within the entity's gaze become frozen in spacetime, akin to scenes displayed in the Tableau's windows, unfreezing whenever the entity decides to avert its gaze.
The Oculi are seemingly intangible, with objects passing through them as if the entities were superimposed on space itself. Additionally, attempts to touch the entity will make it blink, temporarily causing all things the Oculus observes to cease existence, instantly terminating all living entities affected.
The Gallery: This is a large room within the Tableau containing the most prized 'art' of the Initiative. Exploration of this space is heavily monitored, with the room filled with Oculi when tours are not ongoing, making independent exploration impossible. Virtuosos can often be seen coming and leaving from the Gallery while it's closed, typically carrying pieces of art.
FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL PERSONNEL, IF YOU EVER ENTER THE TABLEAU, OBEY ALL OCC REGULATIONS AND NEVER TRAVERSE THE SPACE WITHOUT A GUIDE, UNLESS INSTRUCTED OTHERWISE
The Curator is the anomalous individual who manages and funds the Initiative. Based on the information the Corporation has gathered, it's presumed that the Curator's consciousness is an amalgam of several notable individuals from the organisation's past, including at least one inhuman entity.
Any attempts to produce media depicting the face of the Curator will result in that depiction being entirely replaced by a depiction of a Criticus Oculus. Corporation researchers presume that the Curator's original consciousness is the progenitor of both the Tableau and the Oculi, though the method of their creation remains unknown.
The Curator is known to possess CTA-███, using the object to further their pursuit of 'artistic understanding'. When questioned, the Curator stated, "To face the sins of the past, to face the possibilities of the future, to see all yet be blind to all, is the most beautiful form of art."
It's not polite to pry, though, we understand the urge. You're not a part of the Corporation, are you? Just an observer. In that case, WE will curate your experience. WE will show you the art you've been craving. At the end of your journey, when your cravings have ceased, will you become one with us? Will you contribute your being, yield your eyes, yield your bones, yield your soul to us? Expand our horizons, and we will expand yours.
The Curator has remained amicable with the Administration Department, complying in most cases, though their motivations seem entirely self-interested; the Curator's actions must be monitored closely, as the creation of a 'view' seems to be their only motivation.
